Heard for miles around, Rancid ("Cid") was the carnival Barker for the Dark Heart Traveling Circus back in the early 1900s. One most curious stop in the new town of Cypress Hollow led to an infamous performance, and a never-ending journey for Cid. A portal to the Nightmare Realm opened in our world and the Aedifex, the creatures who inhabit this realm, began to wreak havoc on all in attendance. Because of his big mouth and witty demeanor, these creatures came to believe that Cid was a liaison to humankind. His flesh was flayed, but his soul was spared. Cid now travels with the Aedifex whenever they return to Cypress Hollow, ready to Feast once more.
